Alder House
Award Winning Residential Design in a conservation setting.
This village centre site lies in the middle of a flood plain, was completely covered with buildings with no open space whatsoever, and is surrounded by existing buildings and windows on three sides, with the road running right up to the fourth side. Did we mention that the site also lies in a conservation area and sits opposite a Grade II listed building?
We carried out extensive pre-planning consultations with the planning department, developing the concept scheme for three small dwellings to a final proposal for two larger new homes, to gain the support of the planners and the parish council.
With our flood risk assessments, bat survey, heritage statement, planning statement and design and access statement all in place, we were confident that this scheme for two contemporary townhouses would be going into the planning committee with the best possible chance of success. We were delighted to secure planning approval for the scheme, along with the compliments of the committee members in relation to the submitted design. This project was awarded Build Magazine’s Most Innovative Small Residential Development Award 2018.
